A handful of families have let us paint a pet they were grieving, or simply one they wanted to keep in the room with them. These are their words.

“Bruno passed in March. Having him painted like this changed how the room feels. Quiet, dignified. Thank you.”

“Saskia is fifteen and the friendliest creature I have ever known. She gets a regalia portrait. She deserves it.”

“I cried a little when it arrived. Marcel looks like a small king. The frame is heavier than I expected, in a good way.”
We were sitting in our favorite dog café in Amsterdam when my partner pulled a book off the shelf. Dog, by Tein Lucasson. We turned the pages and stopped on a portrait that felt like every serious painting we'd ever loved. Except it was a dog. We looked at each other and said the same thing. We need this at home.
Nothing like it existed for our own dog. Zola is a small, serious princess of a creature, and no studio would paint her in that register. So we built one. My background is in AI images. Ours is a love of dogs, and one in particular.
We named the studio Maison Zola because Zola already runs the house. The rest of us just live in it.

Yes. The painting is traced from your photograph. Eyes, markings, ears, the parts that made them them. If something is off, we redo it.
We'll tell you. The studio scores every uploaded photo and suggests another shot if the result won't meet our standard. Re-uploading is free, and we'll work with what you have.
Tell us within thirty days. We will remake it or refund. Your choice. We never put you in a replacement loop.
